InternationalDrugmart.com is a pharmaceutical website that claims to have been in business since 2003, the site sells hundreds of products in many different categories. In total three different contact methods are present on this drugstore website, first, there are the phone numbers that are both for the USA. One of those phone numbers is toll-free and the other is a fax number. Alternatively, you have a contact form as well as a live chat feature that customers are welcome to use. Although this pharmacy website looks very professional, in this article we are going to be taking a look beneath that and presenting our findings.
|Name||PE Overseas Limited|
The domain of this e-pharmacy was first registered on the 29th of August 2003 with the site last being updated on the 25th of July 2020. Currently, this online pharmacy is set to expire on the 29th of August 2021. This publicly available information corresponds with what this pharmacy website states in their header, where it says that they have been in business since the year 2003. It is good that they are being honest in this regard, however, this is not enough information to decide whether this pharmaceutical website is legit or not. We will be presenting more evidence about this below.
This online drugstore is registered through a company called Eagle Prestige Holdings Ltd that is located in the city of Tortola, in the British Virgin Islands. The British Virgin Islands is a well-known tax haven famous for its corporate secrecy, the island is part of Great Britain. More importantly, however, Eagle Prestige Holdings Ltd. owns a lot of other online pharmacies, this raises the possibility that this may be an elaborate fraud scheme. On ScamAdviser this drugstore website has a trust score of 32% due to the pharmacy website acting in a suspicious way.
On the online drugstore itself, there is no mention if there are part of any pharmaceutical regulatory companies, instead, they just cite the major pharmaceutical companies that they apparently work with. We had a look at the databases of regulatory organizations such as the CPA, MIPA, and CIPA, and we were not able to find any evidence of this e-commerce platform being an approved member of any of those organizations.
On LegitScript there is currently no rating of the pharmacy website, which is surprising considering how old the site is. This could be down to a variety of reasons such as the drugstore website not getting a lot of visitors or the domain belonging to another company before being adopted by its current owners after the previous owner shut down.
Products & Pricing
On the homepage of this site, there is an interactive slide that features the top-selling products of this site as well as the ‘weekly’ and ‘seasonal specials’ that seem to be selected by the admins of the e-pharmacy. Customers also have the ability to register an account which allows them to save a lot of time as they do not have to re-enter their personal and payment information for every single order they make. Furthermore, they can look back at the previous orders they have made on this drugstore website.
- Skin Care
- Child Care
- Oral Care
Payment & Shipping
In the FAQ section of this e-commerce drugstore, it says that the website currently only accepts credit and debit cards from the processing company Visa. It is unknown why they only accept payment methods from this company, but it is definitely an unusual selection of payment methods. As for the shipping options, there is again just one shipping method to choose from although there are different prices depending on how big your order is. For example for orders under $69 there is a shipping fee of $12.99, with orders of between $70 and $109 there is a fee of $9.99 and finally, shipping is totally free for orders of over $110.
We were able to find 60 reviews on TrustPilot and 2 on another third-party platform. There are a lot of positive reviews however there is a weird coincidence that the accounts that have posted the positive reviews have not posted any other testimonials about other products which lead us to believe that the pharmacy website’s owners have created those comments themselves.
Testimonials are also available on the drugstore website, they are located on the sidebar to the right, all of those testimonials are positive but you can’t verify if they are actually from real customers. Also, it is important to note that the testimonials page does not work and instead shows a 500 error.
In conclusion, there is a lot of evidence that shows that InternationalDrugmart.com is not safe to use. for example it is not a member of any regulatory agencies in the pharmacy industry which is required by law in order to operate in the United States. Furthermore, it is owned by a company located in a tax haven that owns over 10 other pharmacy websites that are also highlighted for being potentially fraudulent.
